As Designers we have the control to influence people. An industry based on the promotion of products, brands, corporations and the power to make the world overall a better place. A Designer must be aware of the social and cultural responsibility which their designs hold within the world. The impact of their designs must be recognised and the moral standard accounted for. Creating a general realisation that actions do in fact have consequences. The picture above is from the art exposition "L'art... Eb Eaux Troubles" [lit. translation: "Art in Troubled Waters"] in Paris. This picture demonstrates the link between design and the impact it could possibly have on people. Here we can see the influence of modern design being implicated upon a design used for a means of survival. Nigel Whiteley states "products introduced to aid a group's economic development have sometimes failed completely because they did not take full enough account of the cultural factors of tradition and identity."
